| 3 9 11 - Delighted to see that Rut's
registration with the KC has been completed. She has 2 ** by her
name to mark her pedigree, any puppies she has will have 1 * by
their name and any of their progeny will not have any asteriks. So
pleased the Kennel Club have accepted and acknowledged her pedigree
with no quibbles. |
| 17 8 11 - A very successful trip to Sweden for the International
Seminar and shows. Tor was 3rd in the
Obedience Competition, Trogen 4th. At the
Clumber Klubben first official Show the judge was Karin Brostam
Berglund (Don's) , Tor was 1st Veteran Dog,
3rd Best Dog, RCAC, Best Veteran in Show, Xon
- 1st Open dog, 4th Best dog, all in glorious sunshine. The
following day, in pouring rain and mud, the judge was
Margareta Edman ( Clumbrolds) . Tor was again
1st Veteran Dog and then went on to be 2nd Best Dog and 3rd BIS
Veteran, Patch was 1st Open Bitch and 3rd
Best Bitch, Rut was 2nd Open Bitch ( she
wasn't shown the day before ). A very memorable weekend. |

Paris last week. Tor ended up World Winner Veteran Dog and Xon 2nd in

| 13 8 09 -Today I have added the in breeding COI for
each litter I have bred. This represents how
closely related the parents are - the lower the percentage shows that
they are much less in bred and thus have a wider genetic base to keep
the breed healthy. The Swedish Clumber Club breed to a guide of no more
than 6% over 5 generations to keep a rich diversity of breeding stock ie
hopefully a healthier breed in the long term. |

News.Roe Froman a Vet
and Clumber owner from the USA has announced a "new International online health survey
that is now available for Clumber owners worldwide. It is the
Canine Phenome Project, and it is
hosted by the University of Missouri, in the US. It is accessible to any Clumber
owner with a computer. The Phenome Project allows owners to enter all their
dogs, and update their health and longevity info at any time.
It is password protected, so an owner can select from open
information (anyone may view), to only other users, to private settings. This
helps with confidentiality fears. Anyone, including researchers, can access
general information and survey totals (ie, number of dogs with allergies, for
example) but they will not have names or registration information tied to them."
The survey
questions are similar to the KC survey done a few years ago and the website
allows owners to register with it, enroll their dogs and fill out a survey for
each dog, that can be updated at any time if necessary. This will be an
excellent resource for all to know what are the main health concerns with the
breed and could encourage future research into health issues within the breed.
The results are displayed instantly - as a percentage of the total number of
dogs surveyed.
Take a look and
please make time to enter your dogs - old and new as the more dogs entered will
give a much better view of the state of the breed in general. |

- Inga - 8, Trogen - 8 and Tarka - 7. The latter 2, we heard the results
whilst in Sweden with Tor, Tarka and Trogen ,
an eventful holiday where
we went to the Swedish Clumber Club Show - Tor getting 4th with an Honour Prize in the Champion dog class and Tarka 3rd in Junior
bitch. ( Trogen spent the morning at the Vet's so missed the show. ) The
previous night Tor had got 4th in the Obedience and Tarka WON the Cocos
cup in 6.9 seconds ( Retrieving) !! The next week Tor and Trogen were
both graded 1sts at Ronneby Int Show and Tarka the same with an Honour
Prize! |

announce that in 2006 we are hoping, pet passport allowing,
to welcome a very handsome dog from Sweden, for a short time only. He
has a good hipscore and is from a family of low scoring dogs. More

We fell in love with Melker on our trip to Sweden in the Summer and we
expect him to be an exciting addition to our bloodlines. Many thanks to

scores will be added to the bottom of the list as received from the KC
quarterly. This is being done purely as my hobby to be available to help

Field Trial
at North Molton, Devon. A good field of 15 runners - 13 Clumbers and 2
Sussex ran. We were honoured by the presence of HRH , The Princess
Royal, who watched the latter part of the trial and awarded the prizes
at the end. She has been President of the Society for the past 15 years.
